Does anyone have experience with the savage 308 with the folding stock and the 20" barrel out to 500 yards or more? (or really anything else with similar length barrels at similar ranges)

This is a Savage 10FP 20 in .308 and it did quite well at 600 yds regularly shooting 168AMAX with 44gr varget.  I really dont think the folding stock version would be that much different just able to be stored easier and able to be turned around inside a car easier.  I'd love to have one of the folding stock models - just havent seen one around yet.

Good back and forth   Excellent

I have experience with Leverevolution powder in a 20 and 24 " Savage 308s.  They are custom barrels, but that powder is superb.  No published data in the 308Win per se but there is data in the 308 Marlin Express and the 338Federal which is a necked up 308 (see Hodgdon Annual Manual 2016).  Makes a 20" barrel shoot like a 24" 30-06, and a 24" barrel shoot like a 7 mag with 150 gr bullets. My load is 50gr LVR, WLRM primer, Lapua or Hornady brass and a 150 gr bullet.  The load is an absolute hammer using bullets made by Trigger 29.  Would work up from 47gr LVR in 1/2 to 1 gr increments and watch for primer flattening and back off to prior load where no flattening was seen, then test for COL.  You should get subMOA groups with a good barrel and solid stock.
It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed. TR
