I was just telling my wife that I was going to order a new set of bino's. She was happy about that and then suprised me by asking about night vision. Said she would like to get something of the sort. She's usually a tight-wad, so I expected her to want to limit the price to a couple hundred bucks. When I asked her limit, she shocked me with $1000. Said we may as well do it right, instead of wasting our money on cheapies. Fellas, the heavens opened up and I saw angels! I normally have to fight her to spend the money for quality, but it looks like she's coming around. Anyway, we are both clueless about night vision. I know generation 1 is the earliest and crappiest, gen 2 is newer and better, etc. That's the limit of our knowledge. We live on a farm and she basically wants to watch the animals in the fields. I would like to use it for coyote/fox hunting, but realize it may not be practical(?). I assume bino's are easier to use than mono's. Probably more money, too. Don't think the head harness type is needed. She just wants to use them from the house. What type of things do I need to know when shopping? Any suggestions? Any help is appreciated. I'm completely new to this area.
