Hi,

Im a Deer/Elk Hunter and plinker.I bought a nice AR and I want to buy 1,000 rounds of ammo for self defense and coyote hunting etc. I know there are many special loads available. I would like some ideas and opinions on these prices and loads please. Its for a Bushmaster AR Varmint Rifle with 1 in 8 twist barrel. If anyone knows of better loads/buys than these and does not mind sharing, that would be cool also.
Thanks!
JF

Everything you have there is much lighter weight than I would suggest.  I am very fond of the 69gr Sierra MatchkingGM223M hollow point.  The 77 gr Sierra Matchking GM223M3 will also feed in the magazine however the 80 grain has to be loaded one at a time and is built for long range target work.   The Horniday TAP ammo in the 60 gr AMAX or the 75 gr hpt is also a winner.
Right now you are way behind the curve as availability is not good. If you reload I can suggest load data for the 69 gr SMK.

You are running a very fast twist barrel. The 60 grain and up stuff will be more of what it wants.  Good luck finding that much .223 at one time right now.  You may want to look at Hornady as they are not a military supplier.

I shoot the 55 gr v-max in my 22-250 w-760 39.0 gr. Some people call it red mist of P-Dog.

I have loaded 50 gr for my .223 have not got to shot it yet. Let you when I get a chance to shoot it.
