I just bought a 500 s&w and some one told that the eotech would be my best bet. they said that were breaking Leupold & Burris pistol scopes from the heavy recoil. some one that has shot 500 s&w with a scope that hasn't broke them give me some advice

Not that many people own those monsters and not that many that do own them have scopes on them.  Given the use (dangerous game at close range) I would lean toward an EOTech too.  Only downside is size and weight.....but if you worried about that you wouldn't have bought a 500.

You might want to check with Bushnell before your purchase.

Their party line is they will not warranty the Holosight for anything larger than the 454 Casull.

Best option is the Trijicon Reflex II

Trijicon will definitely guarantee the Reflex II on any handgun. I called and asked, and received a confirmation e-mail from their customer service dept.
