Does anyone have an opinion of the Minox 16-30 x 50 versus the Leupold Gold Ring 15-30 x 50.  I am looking to purchaes a inexpensive scope for packing along while hunting.  I understand the limitations of 50 mm scopes, but I believe that one will serve my purposes in this case.

I am hoping that someone has had a chance to compare these optics side by side.  The Minox is smaller, but is it as rugged?

I would welcome any advice.

I can't help you with a comparison but, I can tell you that I have been very happy with my Leupold Golden Ring 15-30x50 compact spotting scope.
What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?

Note Opticron has just introduced a 52mm ED glass version of their Mighty Mite scope and it is getting some positive comment. Do not know their price, but supposed to be well under the Nikon 50ED

After some research I had decided to save up for the Nikon ED 50.  I am not at all familiar with Opticron, but I will check it out.

Also, in my travels I came accross a Celestron 20x60mm ED.  It is a straight poro prism and is marked ED glass, fully multicoated, waterproof. It is not rubber armored, and is very light.  It looks very similar to the older Leupold Gold Ring 30x60mm, which was not ED glass.  The guy only wanted $100 for it but I couldn't find anything on the internet about it.  does anyone know if this scope is worth while.
