I need some type of optics for my TC Grey Hawk .50 cal. It had a scope on it years ago (I bought it from a friend) but I removed it and added a peep sight. I have found it difficult to see the sights in low light, even with the peep sight; my eyesight is not what it used to be. I find the gun pretty much useless for afternoon hunting because I can't see the sights at about the time the deer begin moving just before dusk.
I have thought about mounting another scope on it, or even a red dot sight. If I mount a scope I think I will need to use see thru mounts to raise the scope high enough to be out of the way of the hammer. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

I was thinking of buying one of Cabelas sporterized Hawken rifles and either putting a WEAVER V 1-3 X20 or a BURRIS TIMBERLINE 4X20. Both are very compact but good scopes from what I hear. Red dots would be ok but I like a little magnification and dont want to worry about batteries, plus some red dots dissappear in daylight hours.
