Looking for best bang for the buck scope for 25 yards benchrest (PCP airgun). As I am newbie in this area, I think it would help if the scope would be as forgiving as possible (eye position behind the scope). Budget is max 500 $ .

It would be good if scope could be used for other purposes as well: FT, HFT, 50 - 75 yards shooting, but 25 yards benchrest is top priority.

Thanks for any help !

I know Taqhua has one of these on his spring powered pellet gun.
Not quite in the $500 range but know it has been tested.  I'm sure he will chime in.

The Weaver T series scopes are good for benchrest
A pcp airrifle will probably not beat up a scope like a spring gun, I did not have good luck with Barska durability on a 06 rifle, it failed after about 19 rounds.

Magnum springers have quite a bit more recoil than PCP's and the Crossfire has been very reliable. Also, the Vortex has good glass and the price is outstanding. But, I don't think I would use the mil-dot for 25 yd. bench rest.
Excellent choices are the Leupold EFR scopes that come with target dot and fine duplex reticles. I have one in 3.5-10 guise and it is an excellent scope. I can attest to the mechanical reliability of the Leupold scope and it is spot on. I find that a lot of serious airgun shooters are using the 6.5-20 EFR, but that is outside your price point. The 3-9x33 with the fine duplex would be my choice, then. An example of that model is shown here http://swfa.com/Leupold-3-9x33-VX-II-Rimfire-EFR-Riflescope-P3277.aspx
Good luck with your PCP.
