We measure it with a micrometer, mark it with a crayon, and cut it with a chainsaw.

I have 5 Burris scopes with a 6th (Six X) on the way. In the past they have had QC and service issues but it seems they have worked these out. I deal with them directly (I am having a FF Euro 30 modified) at the factory and have nothing but good things to say about their service.. Much better than in the past. The glass may not be quite as good as a Swaro or Zeiss but it is still good quality glass. IMHO there are no tougher scopes built than a Burris and the price is much better than the Euro glass. The above model is also made here in the US.
We measure it with a micrometer, mark it with a crayon, and cut it with a chainsaw.

This is the same scope I just ordered. It has more power on the upper end than you want but you may
find it nice to have on occasion. They have also done away with the rotating eyepiece and returned to a
conventional power ring
We measure it with a micrometer, mark it with a crayon, and cut it with a chainsaw.

Yea, never would of thought about a burris.  But this looks about what I want.  How would you compare this to say the LEU VX3?  Or other scopes.  I thought Burris was a low end optics, but that was long ago.

What is your budget? The Leupold is $480 and has the reticule you wanted. It is 5x on the top end and not 6x like the Burris. But the better glass would probably more than make up for that.

I believe Kahles is unfortunately no longer distributed in the US.. SWFA has some used ones on the sample list but I do not know if any meet your requirements.
We measure it with a micrometer, mark it with a crayon, and cut it with a chainsaw.

the only real #4 i have seen is the one by zeiss...the post come close together and can be used on big game when the thinner crosshairs fade

The 3x9x40 Conquest is in your price range and available with the #4 reticle.  I have one and it's very good in low light.

How does the Nikon Monarch Gold stand up to the likes of the conquest or the Burris Euro.  They have this I think it is available in the #4.

I have a Burris Signature Safari with the 3P 4A love this reticle. As to Leupold you can get what ever reticle they make in most any scope from thier custom shop, believe it is about $35 to order a specific reticle.

Fanstastic scope isn't it. I have one (was on my 270 wsm and will be again once the gun gets back from the mfg) and it is the best scope, optically, I have every looked. It handily outperforms my Zeiss Conquest 3-9 x40 all all power settings in dim light conditions. I have no trouble seeing the crosshairs in all legal light conditions and the view of the animal in low light is extremely good in comparison to the conquest ( and the conquest is not bad at all). My only regret is that when I bought mine of the sample list I did not buy at least one more.

Jack.

Dang it. How do I edit a post? That last one had some really dumb typos.
