Saw your suggestion for ranging to 600 yds for prairie dogs. Don't know about anyone else but my pocketbook can't afford that price tag. How about a second choice, say in the Nikon or Bushnell product lines?

Are you trying to range praie dogs too? You will have trouble ranging prairie dogs over 200 or 300 yards with any range finder. You will either be reading the ground or something in the background. As appose to the actual target. For just an overall good rangefinder for typical use. I would look into the Nikon Monarch.
