I got my Zen Ray ZRS HD 10x42 (2010model)  binoculars  about two weeks ago.  WOW is all I can say. No i am not an optics aficionado, and these are the most expensive binos I have looked through, but wow. I have looked through several nikon 10X50 in the $150-200 range. The ZRS by far out performs them in my opinion. The focus is smooth.  Seems very CLEAR, sharp, bright  to the edges.  I took them to work with me so I could read the street signs down the road. Reading mailbox numbers, business signs,  licenseplates. No problem. I was acutally amazed that once I supported my self against the door frame of how small of letters and numbers I could destinguish. At the house once again from watchn a squirrel from 20 yards or finally figuring out the house 700 yards away was bricked, and not just red. I own a very cheap 25 dollar 10x50 pair of binos. These have been the reason that I had never upgraded, I curse them now.  I thought my eyes werent right for binos. I always felt like my eyes were straining, and hard to focus. I have no problems with the Zen Rays. I sat out of the backpoarch for and hour or so with no eyestrain at all. I must say I really like these binos, worth every penny. So much I questioned myself after I got them. Wondering if I should have got the ZEN ED2 instead.
The even the little covers are neat. They seem simple and cheap but very effective and usefull for picking up the binos and walking out side for a  few minutes of glassing.  The twist eye cups I must say my friend was  fan of, as well as I. I enjoy them they feel solid keep ur eyes the perfect distance w/o being and incovenance like many rubber ones I have seen.  My freind wears glasses and thought they being adjustable were fantastic. Mine came with a padded carrying case which is nice. The padded neck strap is very comfy. According to ZenRay the 2010 model has a lighter body weighing at 23.2oz compared to the  26.7 oz, and they have Dieletric prism coating.over the 2009 model of coating.  They seem to feel very light to me and compact. As I said before I am no optics master, but if you got 215 bucks. BUY THESE. I really dont see how you could be anything but content.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
