Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

NEver mind I looked it up. It looks like the recce has a carbine gas system. The mid length gas port is drilled two inches farther out on the barrel than the carbine gas system.

Mid length on top
Carbine on bottom
The rifles are in the safe and I'm lazy tonight. If I remember right the carbine handguard is 7"-7.5" and the mid length handguard is 9.5". If you notice, the barrels are the same length. It is correct, though that the front sight is further forward on the barrel on the middie. Longer sight radius. These are commercial rifles (RRA). Both have 16" barrels My son's M-4 carbine (military) has a 14" barrel, so to put that in perspective chop 2" off the carbine's 16" barrel. It would be real handy to have, except for those pesky ATF guys.

According to wikipedia.......
Second paragraph under "Specifications"
"A carbine-length gas system is used. "
Sounds as if specs have varied over time and the operator's preference for sights, optics, handguards, etc.

trouble with the atf starts on how the flash supressor/extension is attached, if an extension is attached be it a flash, brake or whatever is permantly attached, (pinned or silver soldered) and the final length is still legal the gun is ok. some have barrels down to 11 inchs. |
