So I've got this T26-4 compact ACOG with the special ring base.

I've got two uppers I'd like it to be able to play with for awhile; once I get done experimenting it will probably end up dedicated to one or the other.

First upper is typical 20" A2. Second upper is typical 16" flat top. Both are Colts FWIW and I've got a detachable carry handle for the flat top.

It looks like for the A2 I need the MM01 or something similar.

Then for the flat top could I use the MM01 with either the carry handle (or a ARMS 19S or a TA60 instead of the carry handle) or would I be better off using one of the special ring flat top adapters, i.e. MM07/08/09 ?

Many thanks!

RIght.....you will need a MM01 for the dedicated carry handle 20" and for the 16" when the handle is installed.  If you want to mount to the flattop you will need either an adapter that adapts the MM01 mount to a flattop like the two mounts you mention or you could remove the MM01 and use any of the MM07-09 flattop mounts (also as you mentioned).

I would go the route that takes less pieces to attach to the flattop.  The system will be more stable with one mount attaching it to the flattop instead of two, plus you have three height choices to choose from.  MM07 low, MM08 med. and MM09 high.  Go MM08 if you have no front sight and MM09 if you have a front sight.
