I noticed in Rancid's 101 post that the SS wasn't included or I missed it. Anyhow it looks as though most bench shooters use a Weaver T24  as minimum cost start.

Just wondering how the SS 20x would hold up vs the Weaver or similar scope for accuracy at 1000.

I prefer 1/4"  MOA that doesn't matter concerning my question.

Thanks.

The SS will compete with the weaver for accuracy at 1000 ALL DAY LONG

I've not used a Weaver but did have a SS 20X and a 16X that I used for long range F class.  They both worked reasonably.  The 16X was a better scope all in all due to less mirage and that the 20X was developing internal issues.  I moved both of them and have gone to a variable for my long range stuff since here in NM the mirage can be a killer even on cooler days and I can dial the power down.

I have not had the opportunity to shoot out to 1000 yards, but I can see details in fence posts at 1 mile with my SS 20x42.
