I have to admit, I've never been one to wear a safety harness or anything in a stand.  But with me bow hunting I am thinking for the sake of all my family and myself I will invest in one.  I do a lot of my hunting out of a climber but also have a few ladder stands.  I don't do the screw in steps.  What system would yall recommend? Keep in mind it has to fit my sasquatch self.  6'6" 275#'s

Truthfully have not used the "new" style harnesses that wrap around your legs and upper body.  I use the "old" style that is basically a belt around your chest.  While I'm not saying this advisable, this is what I use.

I had looked at them but how accurate do you think the weight rating is?  I mean its goes to 250 and I'm about 25#'s over that right now.

I think with me on the diet i am an not stoping until i get to 250#'s I will be ok.  The 2X is just way to big in the waist from the size it says.

6'6", 275 lbs. Damn, makes me feel like a midget (especially after losing 45 lbs. last year). Anyway, DO wear something when you get off the ground. Your loved ones will be thankfull.

I have the same problem with treestands G!  I don't feel safe in any of teh one man rigs
cause of weight ratings!  I want a least a 50# safety margin!

Yeah I was always scared cause you figure once you get your camo on and your other gear + the gun your adding another 10-15#'s sometimes.  IF you are borderline before your gonna be over now.

I actually got it from a guy on a martin archery site.  He bought a new double stand and it came with two systems.  Rated for 300#'s each and he was giving them away for the cost of shipping.  he said they looked identical to his HSS but with no labels

You could also go by the pawn shop and pick up a used construction safety harness for pretty cheap.
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?
