Hey guys, OK, I am switching scopes a bit here and I need more brains to figure this one out Whacko

The rifle: Savage .204 Model 12 with a 26" super bull heavy barrel.

Falcon Menace 5-25x50

OR

Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50

The price is virtually the same so this is not an issue. My main application is target shooting out to 400+ yards and occasional varmint blow away Sharp Shooter

I hear great things about Vortex glass. Information on Falcons is very limited...

Thanks!

Vlad.

I have the Menace 4-14 x 44  and it is a very good scope. "so far"

My warranty runs out in 45 months.

I bought it before I had bought any of my Vortex scopes, and if I could do it over again, I'd buy a Vortex.

The glass is good on the Falcon, the clicks are crisp and even, and point of impact does not change with magnification settings. I'm pleased with it, and not bashing Falcon, but I keep stuff forever and a 5 year warranty is weak.

Here's a decent write up on the menace.

Please read the caveat at the bottom of the page.

If God didn't want me to play with it, he'd of made my arms shorter.

Both are good choices, but personally I would give the edge to vortex.

A 5 year warranty tells me they do not have a lot of faith in their product for the long haul.
