I am looking to put a new scope on a .22 rimfire rifle (Kimber). I want this for NRA Silhouette and general plinking/hunting. Looking for recommendations.

The art of silhoutte shooting requires an off hand hold, shooting at a target (relatively large) and knocking it over. Precision is not a factor thus simply getting the cross hairs on the target long enough to get the shot off is a good strategy. Bullet compensating reticles are of little use so don't bother, because the shot is taken in the "wobble" area of the target. Any 6.5 X20 will work if the NRA rules will allow it, in such case use the strongest they will allow, and if you go to a match I'll bet that is what you will find. If possible a Leo 6.5X20 EFR would be ideal (possibly a Conquest). Next would be a Nikon 4.5X14 with side focus (a new Buckmaster) much less expensive or a 6.5X20 Simmons would be great. Frankly a Kimber deserves near the best.
