Does anyone have any experience with using this type of adapter? I'm looking at something like these:

Does anyone know how much height these add to the scope centerline? I'm hoping to use this to allow me to swap a scope & rings from my Marlin Glenfield 22's to my AR15 until I can afford some good glass for it. I want to keep the scope as low as possible on all of the rifles. The scope in question is most likely going to be a Vortex Viper 2-7x32.

Beelzebub - I have B-square rimfire adaptors that look very similar, 3/8" to weaver, probably the same exactly. It is very thin, you are probably losing no more than 1/8" to 3/16" I would say. Did not measure, just an approximation from looking at it.

Thanks for the reply...does the adaptor you have clamp sideways or with vertical (top) set screws? I bought a Weaver TO-10 mount on clearance at Cabela's and it is way too loose and slips off the 3/8" rail....I may need the side clamping style.Grenade

BKL Technologies (follow this link) offers several different styles of Picatinny/Weaver bases that attach to 3/8" rail.

Sorry for taking so long - I don't check this forum often:-) Mine clamp from the side (I have 4 or 5 of them, for my 22s)
