I've been looking for a scope for a .22 caliber rifle (Marlin Glenfield Mod 60) for target shooting and plinking as well as doing double duty on my AR15 until the SWFA SS 3-9x42 goes on sale Wink (or the higher mag version comes out). After alot of contemplation, I think I've narrowed it down to several of the Vortex scopes that are currently on special:

http://swfa.com/Vortex-35-10x50-Viper-Rifle-Scope-P10819.aspx
http://swfa.com/Vortex-4-12x40-Viper-Rifle-Scope-P10820.aspx

I was set on the 2-7x32 Viper until I realized that it has a set parallax at 100 yds. From what I can tell, both the 6-24x50 Crossfire and 4-12x40 Viper have the ability to adjust for parallax when shooting at closer ranges (10-50 yards). Is it really worth having this adjustability? Which of these scopes would you guys choose or would you recommend something not listed?

I went with the 2-7x Rimfire Weaver, but this scope allows you to correct parallax, if thats what your looking for, friend.

That said, I just went out today with my .22LR and the 2-7x Rimfire Weaver is all the scope I want for shooting since I'm typically only shooting out to 50 yards anyway. Mostly 25 yards.
I love it.

I am not a fan of the crossfires.  The minimal i would get would be the viper.  That said the Weaver Cheaptrick recommended has been tested on 22's quite a bit and has been proven to be a good scope.  That plus if Cheaptrick recommends it, its good.

That Weaver looks pretty sweet...how does it compare to the Viper line? I'm leaning heavily toward the Viper 2-7x32, but I did read a review that mentioned a decent amount of "tunnel vision" with it. Can anyone comment on this for the Viper or the Weaver?

The weaver classic rimfire is a very nice scope.
If God didn't want me to play with it, he'd of made my arms shorter.

I have the 2-7X32 Crossfire Rimfire and it is a really nice  scope.  The parallax is set at 50 yards.  It has a nice, clean image, and looks good on the Ruger 10/22.  Mine has excellent tracking, and I haven't had any issues.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for a rimfire application.
