Point him to this thread and ask him how much he thinks the bad publicity and a complaint to BBB will cost him?

Well sh#$, that is a bunch of crap...it's one thing to be learning how to use equipment and trying do a good job, but to send out a product late..twice..and know it's a bad job without letting the customer before hand....not the way a decent company should work.  Thanks for the heads up on this tool.

Its been a little water under the bridge since this thread was posted.  I am not trying to poke a bear, but after hearing about this thread from some of my customers I feel I need to explain the other side of the story.

I was shipped a stock by Scott over 2 years ago.  My business was quite new, and he wanted his stock done during the busiest time of they year.  I can not attest to dates, but do have a quite good recollection of the events that took place.

I received the stock from Scott to be dipped in Wood Grain.  The stock was dipped cleared and shipped back to him in a timely manner.  I believe he received the stock and found some orange peel on the stock, and was not happy with the finish.  I asked him to send the stock back after he was done with it for the year and I would not only reimburse him for the shipping but would also redo it.  It cost me $8.00 to ship it to him via Priority Mail, and that same amount to ship it to me.

I received the stock back to redo, and was told he needed it back in a very short time for another season.  I finished up the stock quickly and shipped it out via Priority mail taking 2 days time to reach him.  I made the mistake of allowing him to rush me to ship it and didn't allow the clear to fully cure out.  In shipping the plastic wrap apparently ended up leaving some lines in the stock according to him.   I never got to see the stock or pics again.  I also included an $8 check with the shipment assuming that is what it cost him to ship it to me.  (He later claimed he used a more expensive way to ship it)  I offered 2 resolutions.  Again ship back to me for free when he has plenty of time to put the gun down for the season.  I would send him a shipping label or pay him again for the shipping both ways.  I also offered a full refund with picture evidence of the marks left by the plastic wrap.  I never heard back from him and assumed everything was fine.

On the rare occasion that a transaction goes bad I try to work to resolve the issues and make sure the customer always walks away satisfied.

In this case My offer is still on the table to redo the stock as all of my workmanship always has and always will be lifetime warranted and guaranteed by me personally!

I have no dog in this fight, I have delt with Scott no several occations and he's always been good on his word.  I personally wouldn't have sent you a stock a 3rd time if you hadn't got it right the previous, I'd move on to a more capable company.

If your response time to a customer problem is anything like your response time to this thread, I'll stay away.............

When looking at the website it does not show much that is high enough resolution to determine the level of success.  As a comparison I will show you guys the website from a local refinisher where I plan to drop off a rifle to test what king of job they do on Mar 5.                    http://controlledchaosarms.com/custom%20shop.html
These boys do Cerakote, and I'm led to believe they know what they are doing, but I intend to find out first hand as I made arrangements to drive a rifle over to them when they would be ready to deal with it. As for Encore rifle stocks and custom barrels http://www.bullberry.com/ is the pick of the litter.
I will say that the best of the finishes I have so far is http://black-t.com/   done by Walter Birdsong.
