Has anyone ever heard that shotgun scopes are more durable to recoil than rifle scopes, of any manufacture?

why should they be? a 3" mag 12 ga. is pretty close to a .338 Mag. but not where close to a 416, or 458. The recoil on a 3-4 lb Redhawk Casuall to say nothing of a 500 S&W is far worse on scopes. (and we aren't even talkin about crazy people like J.D. Jones SSK 45-70 etc.). So  pistol scopes have to top the list.

Thanks Dale, I wouldnt think they would be for the very same reasons you mention. The Mr know it all I work with has been over heard expounding this attribute of his personal low budget scope he has mounted on his low budget muzzeloader.

I believe that most of these are parallax adjusted for 75 yrds. instead of the usual 100-150 yrds of scopes for centerfire purposes. Other than a heavier reticle, they are the same.
