Hi guys, I have kind of exhausted my resources looking for a "Digital Camera Rifle Scope" plus I am tired of looking at every scope under the sun and I thought maybe someone here could help. I read about this Digital Camera Rifle scope in a magazine recently but now I can't seem to find it again. The digital camera is built into the scope and it takes pictures based on the recoil of the gun. It goes back 1/100th of a second or so and shows you where you were aiming when you pulled the trigger. In addition, "The neatest Feature" is it will also take pictures without firing the gun. I thought that is pretty cool so when you get back to camp you actually have proof of the deer you passed on.   So if anyone here has a link to it or has any knowledge of weather the scope is cool or a waste of money I would appreciate it. Thanks

The scope you are talking about is from Adirondack Optics in upstate NY.  There was a lot of consultation with U.S. Optics on the design of this scope and it is being evaluated by the USMC.  The state of NY has also deemed it a significant enough advance in optical technology that they have dumped a fairly significant amount of state funds into the company in the form of technology grants.  If memory serves me, price is in excess of $1,000.00 and I think there is only one model available.  I have not personally used one and don't know of anyone who has.  But, based on the U.S. Optics connection and the fact that the Marines are evaluating it, I would imagine that it must be a robust high quality scope.  I have seen video footage of it in use and it appears to be a really neat concept.  I think it is only available direct from the manufacturer.  If you get one, please post how it turns out.  Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the info. I have contacted Adirondak Optics and I will post a reply of how the scope functions if I receive it this hunting season. I am afraid there is a waiting list that might streatch beyond this season. Ahh one more reason my wife will be mad at me for spending too much money to hunt.  For anyone else - Here is the link.

Here is another similar contraption that attaches to your existing scope.  We bought one to take pictures of reticles and it works pretty good.
