I was lucky enough to find a Sako 85 Stainless Finnlight. I am in my CA waiting period but will need to mount a scope. It has tapered dovetails. Am I stuck with expensive Sako mounts?
How about Talley, Warne or Conetrol?

I would avoid the Sako Optilocks personally. Not just for cost reasons either. Don't get me started.
I'm not sure Warne makes Sako rings anymore. The last time I checked, they discontinued them. That was about 2 years ago, so something may have changed since then. Leupold, Conetrol, Talley, and maybe 1 or 2 others make Sako scope mounts. I've seen the Leupolds but haven't actually used them before. I've not seen the Conetrol version, but I've used their rings on other rifles and they've worked fine and look good. Personally, I'd go with the Talleys. I have them on 2 Sakos and have been very happy with them. They are very solid and look good. |
