I talked to a friend last evening who had talked to a Savage sales rep earlier yesterday.  He was told they'll be shipping them out in March.

Interesting design.  Like the weight too.  The 7mm-08 is intriguing, but I just love my 300 WM and have a decently light 270 that make me not really need one.

I'll give savage credit they are really pretty shrewd and make the most out of a base platform (110 action). They also make a pretty good product. I find it interesting that years ago they were recognized as good guns but not too ascetically pleasing. Now with the popularity of the tactical look the utilitarian look is working in their favor. I have two stevens 200's a 308 and a 223 and my buddy has one we laugh that it's a good thing we bought our other rifles before these as they make it hard to justify another rifle if you're just interested in a good hunting rifle.

I really like that Savage.  I wish they made a fiberglass version of that stock, though.

I'm not much on buying first yr of manufacture products but I've read alot of posts from guys waiting for reviews and results.  If Savage did it right I look for that one to sell BIG.

I'm not to fond of the 20in barrel. I think they could have done better if the had standard length  fluted barrels and a synthetic stock. the weight would be close to the same

I own several Savage rifles.  They are easily the best-shooting rifles I've ever owned.  I'm totally sold on their quality/price.  I will definitely be adding one of these in .308 to my Savage collection.

+1, that would be a perfect deer rifle.  Add a Swaro Z3 3-9x and that would be one awesome setup.

Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

Haven't seen anything substantial.  It's REALLY NICE of you to volunteer to go first.  Big Grin   I'm kinda leery when it comes to buying any newly designed products.  May be BUGS!

Well, I think I might just have to find out for myself and order one. It's probably going to be a few weeks before I place the order, but I'll post my impressions after a visit to the range. I'm thinking the 111 Lightweight Hunter in 30-06 will be the one.

HOPE you can.  I've got a friend who's been in contact with a Savage dealer in the Pittsburg,Pa. area who told him the end of June they'd be available.  My friends in the process of moving back to there from Ga.  I HOPE to talk to him within the next couple days.  I'd really like to handle one.
