Well does it have enough to get you to 500?

If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

oh yeah...
However I will not keep the SS10xHD on her. I will be going to Sightron SIII 6-24 once they ship... I will try the Burris Rings next trip these bases might go to a .338LM for the 2km... |

negative, have plenty left, heavy under and little hold over just because, am able to center the crosshairs at 500 without issues keeping it one dot low due to 300 to check wind long story but our area is storming with 30-40mph winds for the last few days...

I took this out today again and it performed flawlessly, I do not anticipate having any problems at all, each and every turn was as always very repeatable.
I have adjusted the scope and bases to both the 15 MOA and the 40 MOA slots and I seem to be able to get more than 40MOA out of it so I will have to follow this up with Barrett and see what they say, I will comment on this later as I do not think I am doing anything wrong but I seem to be able to press the mount forward and then crank it down to get the extra angle out of it, I do not think this is causing any issues it helps me but the idea of getting more than the listed MOA is worry-some. I am not sure as to what future issues this could cause, but as for right now it is running flawless. I am also not really abusing this as with the Subsonic Loads or even 150gr 3000fps loads have very little recoil with the can on but. 99% of what I shoot will be subs in this set-up, I have never had a savage besides the 110BA before, this is the first one. I have a question that is unrelated but will post it here and then try to post where applicable. Does anyone notice a huge change in impact first shot vs. follow-up out of their Savages??? |

I have not had any "cold bore" difference in mine at all. And that is with either the stock barrel or my McGowan, factory stock or Choate.

To clarify, I just received this Sightron It has the newer Turrets and is MIL/MIL, I deduced since I cannot get out yet that possibly the ring bolts were not tight to the rails as I never used the torque wrench on them and they were finger tight, I will know for sure once I get back out, the 10x was a last minute decision after I had had a few other scopes mounted but could not get the Zero I wanted from those particular scopes, This Sightron will be able to do it as it plots out perfectly and seems to have a little left over just as I wanted.
I am ready to go out just this weather is not cooperating, I do however like to watch the trails through the rain it is always fun to watch the path and the bullet and wind deflect... |
