Hi all,
I'm going to be buying a used scope for my new CVA Electra, and I've got two potential options. A Leupold VX-3 2.5x8x36 for $320 and a Bushnell 3200 3x10x50 for $225. I've heard great things about the bushnell, particularly the rainguard, but also that it isn't quite as good as the VX-3 in terms of glass quality or warranty. Considering I don't expecting to be taking many shots out past 175 yards, is it worth spending an extra 100 bucks for the VX-3's superior glass when that's starting to push my budget? Thanks, Steve |

Easy SVT ... You are going to sell all those off before I scrounge up the change for a couple more.
cpwrestler, SVT is absolutely right. Both of the scopes you mentioned will work fine, but the Viper is an absolute steal at that price, and just about perfect for what you want. |

argh... Just when I think I've got my decision narrowed down you guys go and throw me a curve ball with a new scope I haven't researched much!! Life is so hard!! From what I've read, the Vortex has pretty good optics, quality and warranty. How is it at holding its zero? I'm leaning heavily in the vortex direction now.

Tried to buy the vortex, but ran into the export controls regulations since I'm from Canada... Guess the viper is off the list unless I can find a Canadian retailer. What a ridiculous law!!!

The VX-3 glass will blow away the 3200. The VX-3 outshines the 4200. I would go with the VX-3 if you can afford it. You will never feel the need to replace it with better glass.

Maybe, maybe not. Don't forget, it's a ML with ranges up to 175 yds. (per poster). IMO, the Vortex is the way to go (just as SVT suggested). |

I'd get the VX3 over the 3200.
