I have been looking to purchase a nikon gold series monarch scope (#6620 2.5-10x56) but I am needing help to decide if that is the best choice for my shooting needs.  I am using a bushmaster flat top .223 and I want to be able to shoot 200-300 yards... maybe even try something like 500-800 yards, if I get a little big for my own britches... Anyways I have been cruising your forum and there has been alot said about the super sniper scopes... Would this be a better optic for my applications???  I am able to get a hold of the nikon for a little more than the SS but either way no matter what,,, I want the best experience!!!!  Also could you suggest any rings for the nikon if I choose to go that route?

The Super Sniper would be great if you are shooting at 100Yrds or more.  Under about 75yrds your picture will get a little blurry.  If you can wait out for the Springfield Armory 5.56 scope than I think that will be the best scope for your gun.  I couldn't wait on mine so I got the Weaver Grand Slam 6-20X40.  It looks great, shoots great and at 1/8 MOA clicks you can be very accurate for long range shots.

Just my $.02

The Nikon is more of a low light big game hunting scope and its features are tailored that way.  The Nikon Tactical is pretty much the same scope with a smaller objective lens and a whole lot better target knobs.  Good knobs are a necessity to accomplish what you want to do and learn.  The Nikon has 80 moa of adjustment which is enough to shoot long range.  Its glass is top notch and will provide a brighter clearer image when compared to the SS.  If you can get the scope you mention for a little more than a SS....do it.  Use it and if you don't like it trade it in to us or sell it on eBay for a profit then get the Nikon Tactical or the SS and money in your pocket.

Thankyou for your honest feedback! I would like some more details about trading in the scope in the event that it doesn't serve my purpose...  If you could respond again or email me i would appreciate it..   I also have a eotech 550 I just bought brand new but now I am having second thoughts about what I want to do with my AR.  I originally was going to set up two systems .. for different shooting but I may have jump too soon.  Agin if you have any options for me please let me know i would be willing to work something out...

Go to our SampeList and click on the link, Trade-In Form.  If you have two products to trade you will need to submit two request.  Our trade in department will review the request and get back to you (usually the same day).
