Looking into the Weaver V series, Grand Slam, and T series. Are these scopes pretty good? It will be going on my Rock River varmint A4. I wan't a good scope but cannot afford Leupold.

Should I just get the Super Sniper or a Burris instead?

Be sure to take a look at the Nikon Buckmasters, too. After viewing the Weaver V and Grand Slam, Burris Fullfield II, Sightron, Bushnell and Leupold, the Buckmaster in 4.5-14X side focus is what I am ordering. You didn't say what power you are interested in, but I would certainly check them out.

i topped my RRA 18" varmint A4 with a SS10X42, and i launch 77SMK's from it, and have killed chucks out past 500 yards with it... not first round hits of course.

i would say the SS10X42 would be a good scope for your rifle, ive also taken running shots on foxes with it, at 125 yards, and one that was jsut walking (sort of chasing his tail) at about 30 yards, and i killed them both deader than nails.

but if you want to stay variable, check out nikon's line, from the buckmaster, to the monarch UCC.

If you want to buy the Weaver....Buy the Grand Slam. It has their "Micro Tract" system in it and fully multi-coated lens. It is a better quality scope than Leupold VX-II and also better than the Nikon Buckmaster line. You may want to consider the Bushnell Elite 4200 series too.
Can you see me now...
