I put a Banner on my CVA Wolf, (no I can not afford anything better right now). But after a day at the range, I am suprised at how well it is holding up. Does the fact that it was made in Korea, and not China, put the over all quality up? In short, could the quality control in Korea, be any better than the Chinese?

Without any doubt - it depends....
It´s in the hands of (in this case) Bushnell and how well they sort the Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
Which OEM-country they choose for production of the riflescopes is of (almost) secondary order as long as there is a functional industry and means of transportation (almost, as the quality control is sometimes governed by production costs)
I knew Bushnell made Banners in Japan a long time ago, I wasn´t aware of that they have produced Banners in Korea. When was this korean scope made?
Could it be that it´s a continous step down in Quality Control on the altar of Mammon?
Japan
Korea
China

I have a 'Banner', 'JAPAN', 2.5x I purchased a a 'show special' back in the eighties. It's been on a .222, a 30/06, and for the last ten years or so it has resided on a Marlin 30/30 where it has really come into it's own.
It is still quite clear and has no trouble holding '0'.
Maybe I'll take it out tomorrow to check zero and celebrate the 4th......
I guess my point is, the old Banners' could a pretty good deal,,,

I have one of these japanese Banners already (a 4x32). Inspired by this thread I bought two more yesterday (for the price of 40 dollars including freight) will see if it´s something useful when they arrive......

This is a Banner I just purchased (well traded) right here at SWFA. So I imagine it is a newer production run.
I wanted a low magnification scope for my muzzle loader, and it needed to have a fast focus ocular. Banner was all I could/can afford right now. I feared it would be a 'Made in China' scope, but was almost happy, when I saw Korea on it. I am seriously considering putting my Diamondback on my muzzle loader, and the Banner on my rimfire. |

It may not be true quality control so much as it is that every now and then one escapes the factory that actually works well.

This is a pretty good scope for the money I just ordered one for my musket. The circle is 27 inches in diameter at 100 yds so half of that would be 13.5 inches from the center X to the post below.

I went ahead and put my 2-7x Diamondback on my CVA Wolf. It was my back up scope for my .308 but I doubt the 3200 will fail me.
I put the banner on my lesser .22LR MkII |
