I'm in the process of buying a Browning X-Bolt (280 Rem) along with a Burris Fullfield II (3-9x40) and was wondering which mounts and rings to get.  I've got it narrowed down to the Talleys and Burris'.  Do I go with mediums or will low's get me by?

I don't know much about either of these so I'm wanting some opions from people that have used them.

Thanks.

edit:  Looks like if I'd use the search option I'd have one of my questions answered (ring height)...I'll probably go with the mediums.

I am a fan of the burris zee rings and have them on most of my rifles. They have proven very reliable for me . I have never had the talleys but a lot of people seem to recommend them. Since the talleys are more expensive and the zee rings have been totally reliable and are better looking to my eye that pretty well sums it up as to my decision making process. YMMV

Fan of the Talley's here. They make a great mount. I run the lightweights on anything that I don't need a 20 moa base on.

I went with Talley Lightweights on my X-Bolt .308.  Standard height will clear 40mm scope.  Talley's Standard height was between Leupold low and medium ring heights when couple with the Leupold base.  They will weigh less than the Burris if you are concerned about weight.

After changing my mind 40 times...I decided on the Talleys.

Another question...What's included with the Butler Creek lens cap kit that you can include with your scope order?

Mine in the past have come with both the objective and eye covers
Edited to add - SWFA hand fits the cover to the scope to ensure the correct fit is acheived. and the correct size goes with the scope
