I just got a new sako 85 260 hunter and a zeiss 4.5-14x50 scope. Leupold
med. ringmounts are a hair too low and highs are higher than I'd like
the scope to be...there is 0.2" difference between the med and the high
mounts
(.86 vs 1.06" base to center axis). So I'm thinking maybe the qr bases with low rings might work, they should be about .9" I think but I can't find the exact height of the Leupold qr bases for a sako. anybody know the answer to this or have this scope on a sako? |

I do not have the scope or measurements, but I do have the Sako and the QR base with low rings. The scope I have is the Leupold Vari3 in a 3,5-10X40.
It sits just right for me.

Your scope is shorter and obviously has a smaller bell but can you estimate how much clearance there is?
