I'm looking for a new pair of 10X42's for christmas.  Should I go with the Kruger Caldera, the Zen ED3, or wait on the Zen Prime (any idea when they will be available).  Also the cabela's euro/meostars are on sale for $600, so they are in the mix.  Thoughts?

I would wait for the Prime if it were me, simply to see what it offers as imprivements over the ED 3.  I don't know if it will be ready by Christmas, but it should be close.  If it Chrristmas for you, I guess you have to fight your own inner little kid (like I am waiting for mine) Big Smile.  Or Give a big gift certificate.

If waiting is not an option, let me know specifically what you want from either the Caldera or ED 3 and I'll try to answer whatever questions you have.

BTW, welcome to OT.

With those options, I think you would be pleased with any of them.

I am curious about the Zen Prime myself.

I have never heard anyone say they did not like their Meostars, and you hardly ever see them for sale used.  That might say something.

Welcome to the OT.

i would wait for the prime hd to come out also i have a pair of 8x43 ed3 i was gonna sell them and buy a pair 7x43ed3 i think i am gonna wait for the prime hd to come out also and get a pair of the 7x43ed3 and a 8x42 in the prime hd and see which i prefer out of the 3.  I know these 8x43 ed3 are some really good glass Zen Ray just seems to be moving forward all the time with improvements and better optics at a fair price point,as far as i am concerned the ed3's are alpha glass i can't wait to see what the prime hd are gonna be like
