Still doing research on the IOR 1.5x8x26 tactical scope. The ad says it has a .223 BDC reticle and .308 cam for elevtion. The BDC I understand but I have never had a scope that had a cam designed for a specific bullet. I am used to elevation and windage knobs that adjust 1/4 moa or 1/2 moa. How does this .308 cam work and why would I want one on a .223 rifle?

168 gr hpbt 308 traj. comes really close to 223, especially military 62 gr stuff. If you shooting steel it's close enough, if you want to shoot groupsnot so good. The cam in the 308 ior is calibrated to 168gr. hpbt drops at the distances specific to the cam. if you wish to use the cam for different loadsthen you must handload to duplicate the ballisitic drop of the 168 load
