Okay, stupid question of the day....Kids want to shoot as above from 25 to 100 yds....they are good but was told I really need a 40 power scope? This sounds like fun for target or plinking but for $400 what is the best and should I do it for the kids?

What type and caliber of rifle will you be using? Consistently hitting an aspirin at 100 yds will be tough with any caliber. I see no need to go above 14X to see the aspirin with good glass. The more magnification will be spending extra money to see the defects in the scope. The Vortex Diamondback has good glass for the price. The 4-12 should work well. If I were going to shoot aspirins I would be using my .17HMR. The .17HMRs shoot like a laser.
Another good pick would be the Burris FF II 4.5-15. They also have a very crisp image.

Folks ain't got a sense of humor no more. They don't laugh they just get sore.
Need to follow the rules. Just hard to determine which set of rules to follow Now the rules have changed again. |
