Agreed; me too.  It's a minor thing.  Positive clicks give me the impression of greater mechanical "exactitude," even if it has no relation whatsoever.

I am glad I reviewed this thread. I thought this scope would be great on my compact .260. It is also a deep woods/low light rifle and this scope is not a good fit. Thanks for the good information on the reticle guys.

THANKS for the reviews, guys.  Sounds like a scope I'd  try if I were looking for one in that power range.

As far as the reticle goes I've been using my C3 Viper for two seasons now and can honestlly it's still my favorite for the type of habitat I hunt (deep woods and thickets mostly w/some 200 to 275yd open areas)and shooting I do.  BUT I do feel that in the right low light situation it will give me a problem.  Luckily I haven't run into that situation yet though and the many other advantages out weigh that one.

tahqua,I do have an extra 2-7x32 Viper w/C3 that I'll probably not use this season if you'd want to give it a try.

Maybe you would like the scope with a #4 German, Doug?

Yep.

Aside from the reticle being too wide for my purposes, I really like this scope.  However, a bunch of people who saw it at the range, like the wide #4, so I suppose it comes down to personal preference.

Any idea how the Minox would compare to Nikon's Monarch 3 2-8x32?  I was all set to drop money on the Nikon when I found the Minox in SWFA's sample list for the same money.

I'm looking to put it on top of my Winchester 94 .30-30 to use for woods hunting.  The specs are better on the Minox but I'm pretty hard on my stuff and am worried about it's durability.  Specifically worried about the "rubberized" magnification ring.  Something about it sounds like it will get torn up.
