Not trying to push my scope on you, but you can get 30 mm rings for you Larue mount without buying a new mount, I had to do that in the past.  They don't list them on the website, you will have to call them.

Yeah I inquired about that.

Think I deleted the email but I believe was like $40 plus shipping.

I got a decent deal on the mount kinda hate to delete the savings by buying different rings.  Guess I could try to sell the 1" rings.

I'd do whatever I needed to to get the SS 3-9x, IMO. This is a EXCELLENT buy and a no lose deal for you.

Whatever you decide is OK though.
If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

In my opinion this would be the correct 1 inch tube scope to try to shoot that distance although a 16 in barrel might not be ideal.  I might consider eventually owning a second upper like one of the White Oak Armory varmit uppers if you get serious about this.  Anyway this is the correct scope.  A guy could probably get away with a 4.5-14 but the 6.5-20 with the Varmit reticle would be the best choice.

If you get the 30mm rings from La Rue you also probably get the free bottle of steak seasoning Bandito good stuff.
Nice thing about La Rue mounts is you can run multiple different optics and they return to Zero when you switch back to the other optic.
