I mostly wear these , but when it's cold "here" under 40* I usually wear my Alapha Burly LaCrosses. The Le Chameau Chasseur rubber boots are probably the nicest, most comfortable rubber boots I have seen.........but they are too pricey for me at $480 a pair. I bought my Vierzon's for $90 several years ago.

Stud Duck,

It seems we have a similar list:

1. Hanwag Mountain Light - Awesome supportive hiker.  This is my primary hunting boot.
2. Kayland Vertigo High - similar to Hanwag.  Still a great boot, but I prefer the Hanwag's fit.
3. Danner Santiam 400 gr. - great winter all-leather rebuildable.
4. Danner Canadian 600 gr. - warmer, taller Santiams.
5. La Crosse Alpha Burly insulated - great mud boot that doesn't kill you when hiking moderate distances (2-4 miles)
6.  Keen Targhee low hiker - around town, in the truck, ready for a hike, camp shoe.

Haven't tried the Mucks because the Alpha Burlys have done so well.

It's been awhile ago, but I ended up with the Kayland's after you recommended them to me; gonna have me one of those bino cases too.

I have a boot fetish, I've got more boots than my wife does purses! On a serious note, if you pound much ground hunting, you'll learn boots real quick.

Matter of fact, I was in Cabelas today cruising for a set of pac boots.

Glad the Vertigo Highs worked out for you.  They have a very adjustable lacing system and good heel cup.

You will not be dissappointed in the FHF harness, even if there is a long wait, it is worth it.

On pacs, Schnees Outfitter Pacs and Kenetrek Pacs are the best I have used, but I really just use the Danner Canadians in the deep cold.

I got a reasonable pair of boots from "XXXXXX's"  a few years ago called Iron Ridge.  They were  warm--- insulated enough for cold weather.  But, I'd rather be a little too warm than have frozen feet.

XXXXXX is located in Hamburg, PA.    Mouth Taped Shut

[ They got stuffed 'taxidermies' and stuff inside there!!     Mouth Taped Shut  ]

I know this one is old, but I used Danner, before the dog got a hold of them, now I'm wearing Under Armor boots.
