I have a friend here who has one and he likes it but he would never spend a lot of money on an optic, so I would say it is worth a try if you need that power range.  For me I like  a really small optic on an AR like the Aimpoints and the ACOG scopes.  I do have an SS fixed power in an AR mount though. I tend to think the 6x is ideal for an AR but I will also say that I am really impressed with a simple 3-9 Conquest that I got in not long ago.  I think I would go this route if possibe.

I have one and in general I like it. The one thing that I don't care for is the rapid action turrets - they move too easily. When I sling my rifle the knobs will turn as they rub against you're clothing. I missed a coyote this morning that was a really easy shot. As I was watching him run over the hill trying to figure out how I could have missed I looked down to find my vertical out 10 MOA.

I actually logged on to the site to see if anyone could help me convert this scope to low profile adjustments and dust caps. At 100 to 300 yds I never use the turrets anyway.

Any help out there?

"The one thing that I don't care for is the rapid action turrets -"

Same here. Without the capability of locking them down, its a problem.

Ive been wrapping black electrical tape around the the turrets...Loco

Other than that, its a decent scope; but doubt Id buy again.

That's what I wound up doing as welll.

Nikon Service returned my call and they don't have a solution at this time but did commit to passing the problem on to their product development people.

I was out this morning, complete with electrical tape, and tagged two coyotes at 225 yards. It's a good enough scope. Really too bad about the turrets - definite design bust.
