Hello, Are there any other alternitives to the Leupold std rings and bases besides the higher priced Talley combos? The Leupold quick find wizard shows the dual dovetails working for a 4 hole receiver configuration, which I have. Is this true? The Leupold PWR looks like a good system although this does not seem to be available. I'll be mounting the Kahles 2-7x36 and am pretty sure I could get away with using low rings. Any and all opinions welcomed. Thx |

i have the leupold standard mount/rings on my model 7. the bases that fit the 700 SA also fit the model 7. and the PRW are available for it. but, i would stick, with a 1 peice base, and im not sure if there available for the PRW rings from leupold, you might want to check, but the std rings/base are workin great for me.

Ok Cory thanks. I have Leupold's 2 piece std. bases on now so really all I need is rings, but I'm looking to try something different and Talley are out of my budget. I wasn't aware of a one piece std. base from Leupold. I might give the PRW a try if the 700 SA would fit the 7. |

Ok, Cory. Thanks for reply. I was thinking the Talley steel fixed sytstem goes around $100 for rings and bases. The lightweight aluminum one piece look great but I don't think they'll fit a 7. The std Leupold rear mount for my 7 is much smaller and the mounting screws and holes are much closer together as opposed to my 700 mountain rifle although this is LA. Can anyone clarify this? any mount that fits a 700 sa will also fit a model seven action. i have the 7 magnum in 300 sa ultra mag, and i have the 700 rh-sa base on it, and i have a friend who has the talley lightweight rings on a model seven in 308. they fit fine, and are a greta mount.
