Looking to put a decent scope on my new Savage MKII TRSR(pull double duty on my 10-22/15-22 also. Looking at the 2 mentioned above, or open to suggestions. Like to stay under 200.00, and using it to plink, hunt, target shoot. Ya know, all the fun .22 stuff.
So, can a few of ya chime in on the pros/cons of either?

Monday a friend and I were evaluating 50 and 100 yard accuracy with Hornady ammo and his hand loads in his new Savage Model 25 light varmint .17 Hornet.  His scope was a 4-12x Vortex Diamondback.  Optical quality was very good and more than up to the task.  I was surprised by the quality when he told me what he paid for it.  I haven't tried a P-22 but have a couple of BDC Monarchs mounted on Volquartsen .17 HMR and .22 Magnum rifles that work well for ground squirrels and rock chucks.

I'd go with the diamondback personally.  Better glass and much better company should you ever have an issue.

I think the Mueller is still a step below the Vortex.

The glass between the P22 2-7 and the DiamondBack 2-7 is to close to call for me.

I like them both for different reasons:

P22 turrets are great on my DPMS 22 and are spot on out to 125 yds dial in the distance. Downside is the turrets turn extremly easy and can get bumped and be off.

Diamondback doesn't have the exposed and caliber specific turrets like the P22, but the field of view is nearly double.

Both manafactures have always given great support so it's a toss up

For me; I like the P22 best and I use a DNZ Freedom Reaper mount as well.
