Does anyone have the Sightron 8-32x56 with the mil-dot reticle? I have not looked through this scope with the MD reticle but all of the pictures make it look like it has a very course crosshair and huge mil dots. I plan to shoot 1000 yds with the scope and it just appears that the mil dots would cover way too much of the target and not be useful for either an aim-off point or distance estimation. I have the MD reticle in some other scopes and really like it.
Any ideas for me?

Never used one, but here is a link to Sightron. And they list the reticle dimensions.

Yes, the mil-dot reticle in the Sightron is too large for accurate target work. I had returned a brand new 8x-32 scope to Midway due to this fact. The scope also has a very large front bell objective and almost resembles a spotting scope too. The optics seemed fine, but I couldn't live with the reticle.  The mil-dot reticle in a Bushnell Elite or Bushnell Tactical scope is much finer.

I have one on a 600 yd light bench gun. Im using the cross hairs and not the dots for aiming and the CH are fine enough for 600 yd work, don't have a viable 1K range yet , but the appearance of CH seems just fine. At 430 yds 6mm holes are resolved and clicks are pleasingly repeatable and accurate. There are a significant number of these used at 1K(IBS nationals match reports) and  the 10-50 is well represented too.
