Congratulations Macky, hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine, in fact it looks like the little brother to my 24" RRA.
Here are a few of my targets. The first set of groups (100 yds.) is with inexpensive Winchester WB 45 gr. Varmit loads: These groups are pretty typical of my inexperienced shooting abilty. By the way, after I shot the first group I moved the SS 2 clicks to the right and shot the remaining 3 groups at this setting. But sometimes I get lucky and get one of these (Black Hills BB 52 gr. match): |

After you and I exchanged posts a week or so ago I ordered the A.R.M.S. Swan Sleeve just like yours. While looking, for it I found the A.R.M.S. #22L Rings .... the height is real close to the same height as yours .... REAL SWEET Disconnect setup, and tell you what, IT IS ALIGNED PERFECTLY. The Swam Sleeve was needed to get that 1" or so forward location for perfect eye relief.
Changing the float tube was a little bit of a chore until I found the right tool. The Strap wrenches that they sell at Gun Supply Houses are tinker toys. They're either too short and don't have enough leverage, or they stretch, or they slip. I got a Ridgid #2 Pipe Wrench ... the real deal like a Plumber would use on a polished pipe. Once I got that it was a piece of cake. Leaned on it and the tube came loose. I was gonna give up on the change cause it was so much grief, but the stock tube was too abrasive feeling, or hot or cold to me .... I put on the Hogue Tube and Grips .... Real nice upgrade. Comfortable Tube and the grip fits much nicer in my hand.
For now I have 100 rounds of Handloaded Sierra Matchking 69gr BTHP. I'm using Lupua brass, CCI Bench Rest Primers, and 25.3 of Hodgdon Varget. Guess we'll see .... my barrel is a 1 in 8" Twist so I'm thinking the heavier should settle in nicely, but we will see. I also have 52gr BTHP but I haven't loaded them yet.
I have to say that the SS is VERY NICE so far. Very Hefty scope. Knobs feel real nice, looks great AND the Glass is Super Clear, Bright and Crisp. I haven't competed them side by side under different lighting, but the image quality is real close to what I see looking through my 3-9 Zeiss Conquest .... and I've been real happy with that one. Once I get zeroed, I want to play with the repeatability of the whole setup. A.R.M.S. says they guarantee 100% repeatability and everyone here says so is the SS. Time will tell. I'll be SUPER HAPPY if both are true.
More to come .... LOVE this forum. Thanks everyone.

Hey Trick:
I can't keep up with theses guys this week, but I'm shooting my AR and loving my Tasco Cheap Sniper 3-9 X 40mm variable. Better known as "World Class", Super Tactical IOR 10X56mm on the way. |

Judging from your new post I'd say your set up is dead on.
