Spring storms have started, We had 7 tornado touchdowns in my area alone. The heavy rain was something else. 12:40 am the front yard using the lightning for light to look at the river of run off.

Then the back yard.

The pond was overflowing and up to the bottom of the dock. I sight I never expected to see.

All the fun continued until 3:30 AM. My sisters house has a small tornado go thru the back yard and took out several trees and the woodworking shop that sat behind them.

Don't know where the mini bike in the pool came from!

It's hard for us northerners to imagine what you folks go thru with winds like that. When I'm at the Shot Show or the Tackle Show in Vegas and someone asks where I live and I tell them on the eastern shore of Lake Ontario and then tell them we average 160" of snow a year they say how do you handle that. I then say we don't have earthquakes, tornado's, hurricanes or forest fires and I can move all the snow that comes our way. One of our guys lives in Kentucky and a few years ago his house blew down with he and his daughter in it. Thank God they weren't injured but they literally lost everything.

We had plenty of warning . The alarms sounded over 30 min before it hit. Then all the cellphones near the towers in the danger area go off with a code red warning. All 4 major channels. drop programing and it is the only thing on local TV. for hours. The quality of the radars show the rotation to within a 1/4 mile. When I visit other areas and see the wimpy uneducated weather broadcasters, I think that is scary.

I doubt that you realized it but the pics of the yard were shot with natural lighting at 12:40 am from the storms almost constant lightning. Electrifying!

A local fellow imported from New Jersey told me that he knew he had become a bonafide Oklahoman, because now when the sirens go off, he grabs a beer from the fridge and sits on the porch and watches the sky.

What a spring...  1/2" of ice on everything last week, yet another frost last night, earthquakes Tuesday, big hail and tornadoes Wednesday and another possible freeze next week. My poor garden... I'm looking for Volcanoes to erupt, next.

Actually, out here it's doubleplus good!!! We've been in a drought and "more rain than in all last year" isn't really all that much. It has been enough to fill up the ponds in the eastern part of the state and the drought is gradually easing to the west.

The NOAA recently said that the drought was the result of a very unusual combo of winds and ocean currents which happens every hundred years, or so and not because of any stupid global warming reason, no matter what Al Gore in all of his flatulent majesty might lie about tell you.
