So I drew a Wanaha any bull tag this year, and couldn't be happier.  But I need a new spotting scope, leaning towards something light weight like this one
http://swfa.com/Vortex-11-33x50-Razor-HD-Spotting-Scope-P61034.aspx
Wondering if anyone has some feedback on this Razor, because I haven't found any reviews on it yet.
I am also open for suggestions, on any decent spotter in this price range regardless of size and weight.

Initial reviews are that it is a legitimate competitor to the ED50, with perhaps a slightly better image overall.  The downside is the rubber eyecup and short eye relief.

Top notch warranty.

Thank you for the response Bitterroot, will the rubber eye piece be prone to coming loose, splitting, cracking, or does it just make the eye relief and then sight picture harder to handle.  I have just never looked through a spotter with a rubber eye piece and am trying to understand the downside.
I have looked through the 16-48x65 Vortex HD with an advertised eye relief of 18-20mm and found it not hard to get a full sight picture when using the twist out eye piece, and resting against it(don't know if this is possible with the rubber eye cup on the 11-33

So the Vortex is heavier than the ED50
The Vortex is longer than the ED50
Close focus is better on the Vortex
Other specs aren't showing on the SWFA website right now, but the Vortex size and weight shouldn't be a problem for me.
What do you think, take the gamble with the vortex or would you go with the ED50?

Any more info or correction would be very helpful at this point, as I am sort of lost when it comes to spotting scopes,   Thanks

Until a couple weeks ago, I had an ED50 w/ the 13-40 eyepiece.  I have since moved away from tiny spotters, though.

If I was currently in the market, I would try the Vortex, because the warranty and customer service is worth it alone.  I also do not wear glasses, and I am sure I could make the eye relief work.

Thanks again for your input, I think I will give the Vortex a go, almost there on the money end.  I'm no optics master, but will be glad to share my thoughts on it after arrival.
