All,
I shot a bow this weekend for the 1st time, and I am hooked. Would love to continue shooting in my back yard, and possibly even hunting. I'd like to buy a used bow. Why used? Well, I have spent a lot this past year on my rifle/reloading toys and pushing my bride's tolerance for more moolah in another hobby would not be adviseable. Plus I'm not sure if this "fire" for bows will stick like rifles.

Anyway, I'm looking at used left-handed bows on eBay and Amazon. My budget is <$200.
Thoughts on these bows? Please let me know your TOP 3 choices...if you had to pick em. :)

Again, my budget is fixed, but I'd like to get something to start out with shooting primarily in the yard. Since I've never bow hunted and not sure I will, not wanting a "Mercedes" an old "Chevy" will do fine. :) Thanks in advance!

Just be cautious of used bows that you don't know condition of, buy from reputable folks, like skylar.  Know the strings or plan on spending another 100 on whatever you buy for a new set of known strings and cables.

The one Skylar has for sale is a nice bow.  Bowtechs are very smooth.

You need to start off by knowing your length of pull.
No matter what you will need someone to help you get it set up for you that knows bows really well.
Hoyt bows like Protec etc are adjustable for length of pull many bows like Matthews are NOT adjustable without major parts changes.
Bows and eveything about them is expensive but rest assured that once you kill your first deer with one you will be hooked and bow hunters have opportunities that gun hunters never get.  A bow hunter can often ask a farmer if they mind if you set up a stand and bowhunt and they will give an OK because they know you wont be shooting bullet holes in their tractor and most figure you wont get anything any way.  You will want a bugtamer bug proof suit  and once you get one you will wonder how you ever lived without one.  http://www.bugtamer.com/    A bow  will make you a better hunter but you will spend time tracking blood trails so lots of good flashlights scent cover scent primos calls and DVDs and good ladder stands the cost is endless.  Arrows and arrow heads are not cheap and you will break and loose some and you will want a target and just buy a small tool box to put the feathers and arrowheads and misc glue tools etc etc in.  Trust me this aint a cheap hobby but its very rewarding.  Here we have access to do urban hunts eliminating deer overpopulation in urban areas.   Go find a bow shop that will let you test different bows so that you know how they feel.

I like a Matthews and shoot one but also shoot Hoyt and the Matthews feels smoother and seems to always hit well for me but in a used bow the Hoyt is adjustable for length of pull. Got to know your length of pull.

If this one is where you are go look at it for sure these Hoyt bows are a great bow.
