I am in the market for a scope to test 22LR ammo at 50 yards. I will not hunt with this scope. After I decide on a specific ammo I will switch out the scope to a field scope. What scope would you folks use for testing? Thanks...

10x SS would be my choice, Gary. Matter of fact, it IS my choice and what I use for just about all ammo testing.
If you decide to sell it, (not sure why you would), you can get most, if not all your money back.

Agree 100%… I was hoping the price range was sufficient. Some people want to try to find a $100 scope for such things… never seems to work out well. The 10xSS is one of the very best deals on the market and perfect for "ammo calibration"...

As do I. The Weaver 2-7x Rimfire is a great scope for the money. I have it on a .17 HMR CZ.

The Weaver Rimfire scopes are designed for rimfires, parallax set for 50 yds. Really all you need in a rimfire scope.

For $300 pick whichever fixed power SS scope has the magnification that fits your needs.
To me 10x seems plenty, but since all you are doing is testing ammo, perhaps 12x or 16x would be even better. ILya

No doubt in my mind it would be the 16x Super Sniper. I have owned almost all of the power ranges and the 20 would work also but I personally like the 16 more than the 20 that I used to have and to me th 10x is either too much or too little so my picks tend to be the 6x for field use and the 16x for target use.
