Hi: What kind of mount and rings are in this picture? Do you know where we can buy them at? |

I finally have some info for you. The mount is a "BLITS" Mount, a quick-detach mount, designed by Mr REPA, and once distributed by GSI. Canadians used/tested them and were very satisfied. Available in "high" and "low" for use with night vision optics in front of the scope (the one in the picture appears to be a high one--much to high for normal use with a scope.) Apparently CDNN Investments has what appears to be some used demo units available at a decent price ($150). This is not what I'd use on my rifle but if this turns you on check out http://www.cdnninvestments.com/blitstanmoun.htmlBest wishes, John S. |

also one last thing. chris u might be able to help. http://www.steyrscout.org/terifle.jpg in that photo is that a kahles or swarovski i swear its a swav from the blurry lettering near swavroski-like rubber eye piece but the coating on the lense screams kahles maybe its the angle looks like a 6 fixed if im not mistaken any help on that one is appreciated

Hard to tell so I blew it up a little.
It could be either. I think it is a fixed power for sure and I am leaning towards Kahles because the coatings look more like the color of Kahles' coatings. |

you have a very strong point there chris. but, im still leaning towards swarovski, becuase of the little i can make out about the letters and the right side of the eyepeice, and the adjustment caps. when i said that it was the 3-12, i was comparing the tube size to objective size, and length, and it does also compare in size to the fixed power. but im no expert when it comes to kahles, and swaro.

Rings for this rig are tricky. I tried the IOR Valdada but found them to be too wide at the base.
The armor mounts for the BLITS base are 22.5mm (approx) apart and this is too narrow to accomodate most STANAG rings. I didn't want to mill the sides down so I searched for rings. I finally had success with ARMS #21 30mm rings (the low ones). They have a nice profile and rest the scope low on the mount but high enought to sight over the front sight of an AR15-type rifle if that is your thing. These rings each have a "tooth" that hangs over each end of the BLITS mount. However, the ARMS rings are phosphate coated and don't exactly match the black BLITS mount. |
