Where is the best place to mount a sling on your bolt action rifle stock? Ive been shooting for a while now, and having the sling stud, with or without the sling installed near the butt of the rifle has always annoyed me when I use a rear bag.
Im thinking of getting flush cups installed on the left side of my stock, so that I can keep my sling on while using a rear bag without it getting in the way. But I wanted to know if doing so would negatively affect the stability I get from shooting with the sling as an assist. What do you all think? |

You could do a flush cup on the left side of the butt stock and one under the forearm so the sling can still assist. If you do get flush cups, go with the anti-rotate variety. Otherwise the sling can get twisted up in a hurry.
