I've been trying to decide on a scope, Going on Commercial Mauser in 257 AI, Main use Coyotes, Looking @ Nikon Coyote 4-12, Vortex Diamondback 4-12, Weaver 40/44? My old rifle Win Md 54 in 270 win with K4 makes me wonder if fixed would be right ?

Honestly, all three of those choices are great.
I would also look at the Redfield Revolution. Another great option for less than $200.00 |

As written in prior post, all would probably be just fine. Do own the aspherical 3.8-12x44 Weaver 40/44. Not quite the same Weaver 40/44 you've asked about. But, think my Weaver is a very nice scope when it comes to the optics clarity in it. No complaints about the adjustments in it either.

My pick out of those is the Vortex Diamondback. Good glass and repeatability. Also Vortex is one of the best companies to deal with IF you have to contact them for customer service.
