My son has a Konus 3-9x50 and would like to screw a 50mm sunshade on the end. I could not find a sunshade made by Konus but wonder if any 50mm sunshade would work. Are the threads universal or pretty standard?

The 50 MM is the size of the lens and not the diameter of the scope. you will need to measure the diameter of the threaded area to know the size of the shade. Most makers do not post the diameter of the sunshade or the thread pitch. You may need to go to a camera shop that sells filters. Try them until ypu find one that fits. Then look for a sunshade to fit that size camera.

Need to follow the rules. Just hard to determine which set of rules to follow
Now the rules have changed again.
