I saw this product at a local gun shop last weekend. Visually, very strong. Have any members bought and used this product. The Horizon model carries a lifetime warranty. THE WERE VERY CHEAP! This worried me.
Thanks, Roger QSL |

I have never heard of this line, but you usually get what you pay for. Keep in mind that they all look good in the store. Lifetime warranties are great if the company is around to make good on them. Somehow I don't get the impression that Buckridge is here to stay.

Ditto what ranburr/Chris said, however, if you think you might " run over it" with your truck/car maybe they are worth a look. I take care of my optics, because good optics are an investment that will return many years of reliable service. As it has been said time and time again, buy the best optics you can possibly afford!!! You won't be disappointed. If you care to let any of us on the forum as to what type of hunting your into, I'm quite sure you will get many good suggestions for your rifle/caliber and hunting needs.

Well so far no one with any experience with this brand. I have Leupolds, Weavers, and Simmons and if a product will do what I need, don't care about cost. Either way.
Was looking for a moderately priced scope for a #-1 Ruger in 7mm. Don't want to pay the big bucks for scope that may stay on the gun a short time. Was leaning towards a Simmons Aetec but if the Buckridge will work, then that's what I'll use. I won't however buy one until I get some feedback from folks with experience with the product.
Thanks for your input.

Hey Roger, you are absolutely correct. None of us have any experience with them. They are new to the market. When I make the remark about the statement " run it over" I was quoting an advertisement I saw for the Buckridge scopes. If you don't mind spending the extra money, I would put the Leupold on that great rifle of your's. My point is why gamble on an unknown.

Roy,
Thanks for your post. I would only put a Leupold on a rifle I'm sure I'm going to keep. Hate to mount and then dismount causing ring marks. After I ring the Ruger out, and it's a keper, will I install a quality scope on it.

Guys, on similar subject, and since I am new at this I do not know the protocols I'll just jump in and ask, I am interested to know if ANYONE has ever heard of Rocky Mountain Optics. I purchased a used 3-9X40 (?) 30mm tube scope at the local show last month and have been trying to find out who made it, when it was made, where it might be serviced (if needed) and anything else about it. It has almost no identifying notations other than words, "Rocky Mountain Optics" on the tube and stylised mountains on the adjustment covers. I was told that it was origionally purchased through Cabela's. After checking with them, they disclaimed any knowledge and the current Rocky Mountain Optics company, a high end maker of testing optics and laser measuring equipment, assured me that they never had made consumer/sports optics. SO.......any thoughts...? |

just for more info on the BuckRidge rifle scopes, they are made by optronics, INC. there is a paragraph or two under new optics for 2004 in the july issue of shooting times on page 39, unfortunatly, there is no review by shooting times, just what optronics says abotu them. they look liek a copy of the POS NcStar scopes. the site is www.optronicsinc.com
